Hey folks! 👋

Welcome to Pro.Tecmint Weekly #3 - your weekly Linux update packed with hands-on tips, certification guides, and tools that actually help you get better at the command line.

This week’s a big one: we’ve officially finished all 19 chapters of our RHCSA Preparation Series. If you're working toward your RHCSA exam, everything you need is now live, from basic system management to storage, networking, containers, and scripting.

On top of that, we’ve started the RHCE series - focusing on Ansible automation. The first 5 chapters are up, and we’re just getting started.

RHCSA Series: All 19 Chapters Are Now Live!

We’ve officially published all 19 chapters of our RHCSA Prep Series, which covers everything you need to build a solid foundation in Red Hat Enterprise Linux from basic commands to more advanced topics like storage, SELinux, firewalls, and containers.

Here are the final 3 chapters we added to wrap things up:

How to Create Simple Shell Scripts in Linux
In this chapter, you’ll learn how to create and run simple shell scripts in Linux, including conditionals, loops, and positional parameters.
How to Use Podman and Skopeo for Container Management in RHEL
In this chapter, we explore managing OCI containers on RHEL using Podman and Skopeo, including systemd integration, storage, and rootless setup.
How to Configure and Manage Basic Networking in RHEL
In this guide, you’ll learn how to manage RHEL networking, from configuring IPv4/IPv6 and setting hostnames to managing services and firewalld rules.

RHCE Series: Getting Started with Ansible (Chapters 16-20)

This week, we kicked off our RHCE Preparation Series, and the main focus is Ansible - one of the most important tools you'll need to know for the exam.

These first five chapters are all about helping you set up Ansible properly and start using it confidently, even if you’ve never touched it before.

Here’s a quick overview of what’s covered:

Chapter 16: A Beginner’s Guide to Ansible Components in RHCE
In this article, you’ll learn the core components of Ansible, including control nodes, managed nodes, inventory files, playbooks, modules, and variables.
How to Install and Configure an Ansible Control Node in RHEL
In this article, we walk you through setting up an Ansible control node on RHEL 9, including SSH key setup, inventory configuration, and testing connections to remote Linux hosts.
How to Manage Remote Systems with Ansible Ad-Hoc Commands
In this chapter, we demonstrate how to set up passwordless SSH access, configure privilege escalation, and use ad-hoc commands for remote system management.
How to Use Static and Dynamic Inventories in Ansible
In this chapter, you will understand the key differences between static and dynamic inventories and how to use them in Ansible automation.
How to Create and Use Ansible Plays and Playbooks
In this chapter, we explore how to install packages, manage services, copy files, and automate system configuration using Ansible modules

Tool Spotlight: Gemini CLI - AI in Your Terminal

This week, I got a chance to try out something pretty interesting - Gemini CLI, which is an experimental tool that brings AI right into your Linux terminal.

Think of it like having ChatGPT inside your shell. You can type in a question or command, and Gemini responds directly in the terminal - no browser needed.

Here’s what it can do so far:

  • ✅ Explain complex Linux commands
  • ✅ Generate quick shell or Python code snippets
  • ✅ Help troubleshoot errors
  • ✅ Turn natural language into usable terminal commands

It’s still early and a bit rough around the edges, but honestly, it feels like a peek into the future of how we’ll work with the command line.

If you’re curious, I put together a quickstart guide so you can try it out yourself.

What’s Coming Next: UbuntuHand Course + eBook

I’m excited to share that we’ve started working on a brand-new project called UbuntuHand - a hands-on course and eBook designed for anyone new to Ubuntu who wants to move from casual use to real-world sysadmin skills.

Right now, we’re about 30% done, and we’re aiming to launch it by the end of July. It’ll be full of practical examples, step-by-step labs, and real tips from the field.

If you're already a Yearly or Lifetime Pro Member, you'll get it for free as part of your membership - no extra cost, no subscriptions.

✅ UbuntuHand eBook + Course
✅ Access to all 8+ TecMint Pro eBooks
✅ No ads. No monthly fees. Just pure Linux content.

Thanks again for following along here at Pro.Tecmint. Whether you're preparing for RHCSA/RHCE or just improving your Linux skills, we’ve got your back.

Until next week, keep learning, keep tinkering, and keep typing man like you mean it. 😄
